Sacred Service Opportunities at Unity of Bellevue

“I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who will have sought and found how to serve.”
Albert Schweitzer

Sacred Service is an integral part of a life lived according to spiritual practice. There are many ways that you can establish this practice for yourself at Unity of Bellevue. While the time commitment in each of these areas is minimal, you will receive maximum results when you take on any responsibility with a joyful heart.

Get connected to our spiritual community by sharing your talents and gifts while serving from the heart. Below are details about current areas for volunteering in Sacred Service.

We all have spiritual gifts to share!

Be part of a great TEAM where …

Help ring up Bookstore sales on Sunday mornings and other times as needed, answer questions, and be a warm and loving presence to people visiting our Bookstore.
Time Commitment: 30-45 minutes before or after the service.
Team Leader: Tab Bronson

Many friendships are made after our Sunday Celebration Services over coffee and refreshments. Helping get the kitchen going and keeping the supplies fresh is a service that is easy to undertake and is mightily appreciated; help clean up after service.
Time Commitment: Help before and/or after service, one Sunday a month.
Team Leaders: Silvan & Peggy Strandwold and Deborah Simmons

Help maintain the beauty of our grounds.
Time Commitment: One to six hours on Blue Jean Sunday. The group gathers quarterly.
Team Leader: Jim Powers

Meets every Tuesday at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary.
Time Commitment: Weekly rehearsals (except for the summer months) and possible additional sessions prior to regular or special performances.

Be a warm and welcoming presence for all! Greet people as they walk in our doors and help them find their way around. Hand out bulletins, and assist with receiving the offering. There are several ways to be a part of the team with varying time needed, depending on how you are serving.
Time Commitment: Up to 1½ hours on Sundays. (Help out one Sunday a month or as frequently as you would like.) Help is always appreciated for our periodic special services as well.
Team Leaders: Dan Haney and Silvan Strandwold

Teach or assist in our Sunday Youth Program. Make a difference in the lives of our children and youth. Training and curriculum is provided.
Time Commitment: Two hours, one or two Sundays per month for one school year and meetings and/or trainings as scheduled.
